The controls with a keyboard and mouse is bad. At least i met god at the end.... Like an Indie Game, Laraan has a really beautiful esthetic and a nice soundtrack, the low poly style is very pleasurable and the environment it's very good, the camera control could go faster but you will get used to it.You need a xbox Controller.. Despite obvious glitches, lags, bugs, graphical issues, questionable design choices, poor level construction, tedious storytelling, clunky animations, bad controls and dated style, this is a positive review.. Laraan represents a whole world under your feet. Beautiful art, great soundtrack and thousand miles of an incredible open world to explore makes this title a must for this 2017 indie scene.. I've only played about 45 minutes of this game (collected 5/8 gold things), but I already love it. The art style, the music, the levels. It's great! My one complaint is sometimes the camera doesn't follow you smoothly, sometimes it zooms in way too far when you are up against a wall and is sometimes difficult to turn, which in turn makes platforming difficult.I 100% recommend this game. I paid $4.99 and have gotten 45 minutes of entertainment out of it, and plan to get much, much more!. The A E S T H I T I C of Laraan makes if very difficult to tell how far away things are, which is a bad thing for platforming. There’s also very floaty hit detection, like hit boxes are a ways outside of the physical objects; and the camera, which controls like it’s buoyantly moving through jelly, frequently jumps up close to the character which doesn’t let you see what’s in front of you. Story wise it’s Noah’s ark... except God’s like “I killed everyone, now bring me shiny things or die trying.” There’s visual elements of a backstory, but what am I supposed to feel? My only goal is to get shiny things. Am I trying to please this menacing god? Do I care for revenge? Maybe my real motivation is just to find more sweet hover bikes that explode when rocks look at them funny. Not a lot going on here for a game that performs so frustratingly.. This game has been a genuine surprise. The music walks you in a mysthic and colorful world. A remarkable artistic aspect that achieve, even for a few hours, get away from all and enjoy the experience.. A very good exploration game. Music and ambientation are good, too. Low poly style is like a hand in a glove, matching perfectly the overall game. Try and error method for some puzzles can be annoying, but the reward is worth it. About control, I think is very important to use gamepad in this game, to control the character with an analog control and mix it with another analog control for the camera. With this configuration is totally enjoyable. Give him a chance and finish if you can!. Minimalist and beautiful graphics, yes, if you like this sort of thing, and it has nice sound and atmosphere, but I don't get why release it with such poor controls... It could have been an enjoyable short walking simulator, but as it stands I don't recommend it.. quot;Let's make a lengthy branching path timing based platform section with like 8 choices, only of them is a winner, that's a good idea" - no one, never.Rarely played a game with such terrible controls and cameras. Unresponsive, rotating the camera with the right stick takes ages, sometimes the left stick can steer the character but in the vehicle section the right stick is more suited to the job which is incredibly confusing, there's no air control which is a huge mistake in a game where you can jump this high and far. All in all, controlling the player character never felt right.And that's before taking into account the camera that is sitting at a very awkward angle and has this habit of jump up close whenever something is behing the character, which is dizzying to say the least. Camera that, of course, never lets you see where you're going to land, something rather critical in a platforming game.Soundtrack is decent, graphics are a matter of taste, but it all goes to waste by the truly disgusting "gameplay" thing that makes games interesting. What a shame.
